Dimensions: Height 43 cm Wide 29 cm Depth 29 cm Weight: 3935 grams The rounded globular body rising from a short recessed foot to a tall cylindrical neck, covered overall in a rich cobalt-blue glaze of even tone and soft sheen. The exterior is decorated with a reserved circular medallion finely painted in famille rose enamels, depicting an animated figural scene with elegant court figures in a landscaped setting, including rockwork, flowering branches, and architectural elements. One figure is shown accompanied by attendants, the scene rendered with careful line work and harmonious colouring. The base with a white-glazed recessed foot, inscribed in underglaze blue with a six-character Qianlong mark within a double circle. While bearing an imperial reign mark, the vase dates to the Republican period, reflecting the continued admiration for and revival of Qing dynasty models during the early 20th century. The combination of a monochrome blue ground with a polychrome figural reserve echoes earlier Qing decorative schemes, reinterpreted here as a refined decorative object intended for display.
