작품 상세
Dimensions: Height 7,1 cm Diameter 14 cm Weight 437 grams The gently domed cover surmounts a low, circular jar, both elements moulded with vertical fluting that continues uninterrupted around the body and lid. The piece is covered overall with a soft, milky-white glaze, pooling subtly in the recesses and thinning slightly at the edges, characteristic of early Dehua production of the Yuan period. The porcelain body is dense and finely potted, the profile compact and well balanced. The glaze displays a faint warm tonality and a slightly satiny surface, anticipating the later refinement of so-called blanc de Chine wares while retaining the more restrained, utilitarian elegance of Yuan dynasty forms. The recessed lip allows the lid to sit securely, indicating use as a covered container, possibly for cosmetics, incense, or medicinal substances. Comparable white-glazed covered vessels from the Dehua kilns are preserved in museum collections and are generally dated to the Yuan dynasty, marking an important transitional phase in the development of Dehua porcelain.
