ca. 1888 dated; beautiful embroidered crazy patch quilt made as gift from wife to a husband on his 45th birthday; a wonderful array of non-uniform patchwork of predominantly silk fabrics, central embroidered patch noting maker's name and her husband Henry Snyder's birthday within the patchwork, bound with feather stitch and several patches with extensive embroidery of flowers, wheat heads, flags crossed, a parakeet, buck and hunting dog, a blue chambray fabric back and is bound with crimson satin fabric, 74"x 64; [Note: The maker "Sallie" Snyder has placed to company ribbons for Civil War Pennsylvania units 84th and PA 57th giving history to Henry's military career. Henry Snyder (1843-1928) was a Civil War veteran in 84th PA infantry and transferred to Co. 1 57th PA Infantry. He served 1862-1865.
