A very unique antique 19th Century Needlepoint / Sampler Fire Screen on an ornate Mahogany Wood Stand | This beautiful almost 5 foot tall hand-carved fire-screen has a needlepoint silk floral tapestry in a hand-carved frame on an adjustable carved pole. The silk needlepoint is encased with glass on the front side and a wood panel on the back, each (glass and back) possibly added later to preserve the one-of-a-kind tapestry. The remarkable stand is intricately hand-carved and in excellent condition. The top of the shaft has a carved finial | In overall excellent antique condition with no tears to silk needlepoint screen.
