Tony Sarg (American, 1880-1942) decorated "Nantucket" box, paper covering with illustrations depicting whaling scene at top, vignettes of apprentice and master on sides, artist signature appears in LR of top scene, green artist's label underside, interior with yellow painted finish, some staining and discoloration as expected with age, wrinkling and lifting of paper, 5" h. x 9 7/8" dia. [Tony Sarg was a notable illustrator and puppeteer who produced and toured shows around the country. His drawings appeared in publications like The Saturday Evening Post, Parents Magazine, Boy's Life, Good Housekeeping and Vanity Fair]
