Fine cinnabar box. The round box supported on a circular foot rim with a lappet band around the base the central section of both box and lid bearing a complex motif of blossoms and tendrils carved in low relief. The top of the box depicting two doves balanced on the branches of flowering plum trees and bamboo leaves that rise from a rocky ground all on a finely carved flower head and lozenge pattern ground. Six-character Qianlong mark in gold on the recessed black lacquer base.
