Circa 1910. Mahogany and brass. Silvered dial. Engraved '1081, L. Leroy & Cie'. Description: c. 1910 French one-day chronometer in a small three-tiered mahogany case with the original ratcheted key. Case: The hinged mahogany box has both full and stop hinges, spring loaded push-button closures and an engraved bone plaque, '1081, L. LEROY& Cie'. The center tier holds the chronometer while the lower tier has a compartment for the original ratcheted key. Dial: The engraved silvered dial has a sector sub-dial for the power up/down indicator that counts down from 36 to 0. It has Roman numerals for the hours and a large seconds dial below. The hour, minute and power indicator hands are silver/gilt while the seconds hand is cut steel.
