EARLY 19TH CENTURY FRENCH WORK, AFTER PIERRE PHILIPPE THOMIRE Harlequin clock (artist of the day) in gilt bronze with black patina, movement signed Vaillant in Paris. Note: This clock was produced in various versions, notably with a polychrome patina. One is kept in the Palazzo Quirinale in Rome, while another came from the collection of Charles-Ludovic de Bourbon and is currently kept in the Palazzo Riccardi in Florence. A variant formed part of the collection of Baron Alphonse de Rothschild (Salon Vert, Hôtel Saint-Florentin, Paris, CF Christie's New York sale, Rothschild Masterpieces, 17 October 2023, lot 561).
