A Jade Ritual Axe (Yue) with Deity-and-Mask Design, Liangzhu Culture, circa 3300–2200 BC Expertly carved from a fine-grained jade now exhibiting a warm ochre tone with dark speckles. The rectangular blade tapers slightly toward the perforated end and is smoothly polished. The front is delicately incised with a depiction of a crowned divine figure standing atop a stylized mask motif, further ornamented with spiral scrolls below.
