A very fine Chinese Dehua blanc-de-chine figure of a seated Wenchang, the God of Literature seated on a rock wearing a scholar's cap, the face detailed with a moustache and beard, right hand and leg covered beneath long sleeved robe with left side exposed, unmarked with no visible seal, mounted to a gilded conforming base when the figure was electrified in the mid 20th century; ht. 13, wd. 6, dp. 4.75 inches (sculpture only) Overall very good condition with age imperfections throughout. Unable to provide photos of figure underside as this figure has been mounted to a gilded base. See photos for condition. No breaks or repairs throughout this figure besides when it was electrified. Remains of original moustache.
