HAMMERLESS DOUBLE RIFLE WITH CASE AND DELUXE SET OF ORIGINAL LOADING TOOLS AND CLEANING/MAINTENANCE ACCESSORIES. SN. 6277. Cal. .450, 3-1/4" BPE. Built in 1888 with 28" damascus brls that have file cut flat top rib. Fixed rear sight, flip up sight set for 200 yards, and blade front sight. Rib is engraved "ALEX.R HENRY, EDINBURGH AND LONDON./MAKER TO THEIR ROYAL HIGHNESS THE PRINCE OF WALES AND DUKE OF EDINBURGH." Breech ends of brls with ring of engraving. Brl flats with provisional stamps, ".430" (proper and original for this vintage double rifle, .430 refers to the bullet's actual diameter not the nominal .450 case size), "A.H.", and SN. Walnut splinter forend is full coverage checkered with blued lever release which is near full coverage scroll engraved as is the iron with shell carving at center. Interior with engraved screws. Casehardened hammerless receiver is beautifully scroll engraved in about 85% coverage with maker's name in banner on locks. Fences are very nicely carved. Top of frame is full coverage scroll engraved and "HENRY'S/NO. 154/PATENT" in oval. Bottom of frame engraved in about 80% scroll coverage. Jones underlever is also nicely scroll engraved, as is trigger guard at rear of bow and tang with SN at front of tang. Each side with cocking indicators and gold inlaid "COCKED". Gun made with double triggers and extractors. Casehardened and engraved steel grip cap with trap. Capped pistol grip walnut buttstock is checkered in point pattern, has finely beaded cheek piece on left side, sling mount on toeline, and terminates with its original light engraved blued heel & toe clips. Gun is housed in its maker's original oak & leather brass bound case with nearly all original numbers matching accessories. WEIGHT: 8lbs. 6oz. LOP: 14-1/4 ".
