AND ACCESSORIES. SN. 6107. Cal. .577/500. Built with 28" laminated brls that have file cut flat top rib. Rear sight set for 150 yards with flip up 250 yards sight and blade & white bead flip up front sight. Rib is engraved "ALX.R HENRY, EDINBURGH AND LONDON./MAKER TO THEIR ROYAL HIGHNESS THE PRINCE OF WHALES AND DUKE OF EDINBURGH." Breech ends of brls with rings of engraving and doll's head extension. Brl flats with provisional stamps, "38", "A.H.", and SN. Bottoms of tubes appear to be stamped "RIFLING A&T 3336 & 7". Walnut splinter forend is full coverage checkered with lever release which is near full coverage scroll engraved as is the iron with shell carving at center. Interior with engraved screws. Casehardened hammerless receiver is beautifully near full coverage scroll engraved with maker's name in banner on locks. Fences are very nicely carved. Top of frame is full coverage scroll engraved and "HENRY'S/NO. 121/PATENT" in oval. Bottom of frame engraved in about 80% scroll coverage. Jones underlever is also nicely scroll engraved as is trigger guard at rear of bow and tang with SN at front. Each side with cocking indicators and gold inlaid "COCKED". Gun made with double triggers and extractors. Casehardened and engraved steel grip cap with trap. Capped pistol grip walnut buttstock is checkered in point pattern, has finely beaded cheek piece on left side, sling mount on toeline, large engraved gold crest on toeline towards pad, and terminates with a thin dark brown leather covered pad. Gun is housed in its maker's original oak & leather brass bound case with nearly all original numbers matching accessories. Case with removable tray with ammo storage underneath. We believe the crest to be that of the Maharajah of Dholpur. This gun ordered and owned by Maharajah Nihal Singh (1863-1901). WEIGHT: 10lbs. 4oz. LOP: 14-5/16".
