작품 상세
OA 46”, 30” Damascus twist steel barrels, muzzleloader 44 cal., 9 lbs. Signed W.M. & Co. on the barrel and the lock. There were numerous gun makers by the name of William Moore in this same period, including one in New York state, but this rifle is clearly English and is believed to be made by William Moore working at Old Bond Street, London. It has exceptional engraving on the trigger guard, the lockplate, and a deer engraved on the patchbox lid. The gun shows an unknown serial number on the trigger guard. The rifle features double triggers with safety on each, engraved lock plates, and hammers with a high fence percussion lock, with platinum vent plugs. The barrels are hook-breached, with a three-leaf sight.
