Erté (Romain de Tirtoff) (Russian, 1892–1990) Lovers and Idol Measurements: 20 1/2 inches high x 12 1/2 inches wide Cold painted bronze sculpture Limited edition cold painted bronze sculpture depicting two elongated, intertwined figures in an intimate embrace beside a stylized idol form. The figures are rendered with Erté’s characteristic Art Deco elegance, featuring elongated proportions, flowing drapery, and contrasting polished and patinated surfaces. Gilt accents and beaded chain elements enhance the theatrical and ornamental quality of the composition. The sculpture is mounted on a stepped base with decorative detailing and is numbered 79 of 375. Condition: overall good condition.
