Exceedingly rare, and unusually large Rouleau Vase decorated in bright pink enamel. Pink-enamel is one of the rarest of the Chinese enamels, owing to the high gold content, and was only produced at the Imperial kilns at Jingdezhen, or within the walls of the Forbidden City. This large Rouleau vase bears the mark of the Kangxi Emperor, we believe it to be Kangxi or Qing dynasty. This glaze is very rare and the best examples are in the best Museum and Private collections. The rose colored glaze was a low-fired glaze known as Rose du Barry in the West, it was adopted in the late Kangxi period and used during the Yongzheng-Qianlong period.
