A SUPERB BLUE AND WHITE 'ZHONG KUI' 'ELEPHANT LEG' VASE Chongzhen Sturdily potted with tall slightly curving sides rising to a short waisted neck, painted in vibrant tones of cobalt-blue with a continuous scene of Zhong Kui the demon-queller gazing up at a bat riding a spotted deer with antlers being led by a small demon all amidst plantain leaves, shrubs and V-tick grasses, all between incised patterned-borders on the foot and shoulder, the neck with pendant plantain leaves. 42.7cm (16 3/4in) high.
