Coy Avon (C.A.) Seward (1884-1939) Peppers and Squash 1934 This unusual Seward lithograph of Southwest subject matter is signed by the artist in pencil below the image lower right and titled lower left, Gardner and Thompson page 124. C.A. Seward was an early member of the Prairie Print Makers, a Kansas-based print society dedicated to advancing fine art prints across America. He credits Birger Sandzen, founder of the group and his instructor at Bethany College, with being an early influence on him as a lithographer. Seward was a founding member of the Wichita Art Association, Wichita Art Museum, and the Wichita Artists' Guild. Image measures 9 x 11.5 with a framed size of 17.25 x 19.25 inches.
