Gustave Baumann (1881-1971) Indiana Red Gum Trees 1927 The early image, numbered 24 from the edition of 120 prints, is titled in pencil lower left and signed by the artist lower right with the hand in heart stamp and watermark paper. This is a fine example with intense color. This early Midwestern image was likely inspired by the artist's studies at the Art Institute of Chicago in the early 1900s, where Arts and Crafts ideals were central to the curriculum. Image measures 9 x 11, sheet is 13.25 x 14.5, and frame is 19 x 20.25 inches.
