Thomas Hart Benton (American, 1889-1975) Spring Tryout, 1943 Lithograph on paper 9 ½" x 13 ¾" (image) Edition of 250   Pencil-signed to the bottom right margin. Circulated by Associated American Artists, New York City. The sheet measures 12" x 16" and the glazed frame measures 19 ½" x 23 ¾".   Of Spring Tryout, Benton wrote: “From a painting made in the middle forties. Represents an incident of my boyhood when another boy and myself took an old horse out one early spring day for a ride.
