Thomas Hart Benton (American, 1889-1975) Island Hay, 1945 Lithograph on paper 10" x 12 ¾" (image) Edition of 250   Pencil-signed to the bottom right corner. Circulated by Associated American Artists, New York City. The sheet measures 11 ¾" x 14 ½" and the glazed frame measures 18" x 20 ½".   Of Island Hay, Benton wrote: "In the uneven fields on Martha's Vineyard, the reapers still mow with their long scythes, for the contour of the small fields makes a reaping machine impractical.
