작품 상세

Shinichi Nakazawa - Tokyo 1957 -  Sector Form III, 1994 Etching and Gold Leaf, Dimensions: H 13.5 x W 27.75 inches Signed Bottom Right Framed in a thin, black frame with gold-painted corners, Dimensions: H 14.5x W 28.75 x D 1 inches Provenance: Studio Kimura, Dallas Estate Condition: Good As a young man, Nakazawa began teaching himself the techniques of copperplate etching in 1975, even before graduating from Tokyo’s Rikkyo University in 1979. Since then, he has pursued his artistic career diligently, with international exhibits and continued shows throughout Japan. His works have a special strength and depth, with the use of metal leaf applied to the paper. Elements that at first might be taken as Japanese calligraphy are in fact his own stylistic creations that have no literal meaning. Nakazawa has delved into miniatures and mezzotints, but for now has decided he can best convey his artistic needs with the medium of copperplate etching.
