A Chinese Scroll Painting by Mi Fu (650 x 37.7cm) Mi Fu (1051-1107), originally named Fu and later changed to Fu, with the courtesy name Zhang, lived in Taiyuan (now Shanxi) for generations. In his childhood, he moved with his father to Xiangyang (now Hubei) and adopted the name Haiyue Waishi. Formerly served as a school scribe, a calligraphy and painting doctor, and a member of the Ministry of Rites, collectively known as the "Four Masters of Song" along with Cai Xiang, Su Shi, and Huang Tingjian
