작품 상세
This is a very rare and spectacular original 1908 French nasty caricature of Wilbur Wright at Le Mans, France. It was here that the Wright brothers achieved fame and fortune after setting the world duration record in front of thousands of cheering spectators. Before this happened though, they were regarded as fakes and bluffers, and much fun was made of their claims. Text at the bottom translates as: He flies almost as well as our chickens. This caricature, which was the full front cover of Le Rire magazine of Sept. 5, 1908, was clearly drawn before Wilbur's record breaking flight.
