Date: 19th century Description: Funny genre painting in the parlour of a house. A young girl in traditional costume and with a mask in her hands looks amused and concerned at the same time while a seated old woman gesticulates wildly at her. Apparently, as the clock on the wall on the one hand and the mask in her hand on the other suggest, the girl has only returned from a masked ball early in the morning, which visibly annoys her caring mother(?).
