Eddie Colla - 'Ambition'. In 2013, when Wal-Mart started getting into the Street Art phenomenon, they literally stole some of the most popular images of the time from artists like Banksy, Mr. Brainwash and Eddie Colla (this was a big story at the time). This is the artwork Wal-Mart stole. Titled 'Ambition', a 24" x 36" lithograph print on butcher paper featuring Eddie's "graffiti girl" and the quote, "If You Want to Achieve Greatness, Stop Asking for Permission”, signed by the artist. Eddie attended the School of Visual Arts in New York and graduated from the California College of Arts with a BFA in photography/interdisciplinary fine arts in 1991. He began his artistic career as a photographer, working first for the New York Times and later countless magazines, record labels and ad agencies. 15 years later he has morphed into one who counters the all-pervasive nature of commercialism in public spaces.
