In 1960 he joined the Atelier Giorgio Upilio, noted for its work with Giacometti, Lam, Fontana and De Chirico. in 1966-67 he became professor at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera, taught art for over thirty years. The iconography of his art has been heavily influenced by Christian, Indian and other ancient and modern artistic and philosophical traditions. In his wide-ranging oeuvre as a painter, sculptor and designer, he has collaborated with well-known Italian architects including Figini and Pollini, De Carli, Gardella, Faranda, and Selleri. Nastasio has had solo exhibitions both in Italy and other countries including the United States, where he was represented for many years by the Phyllis Lucas Gallery/Old Print Center.
