George Gay was the only survivor of the attack on the Japanese Fleet at Midway by Torpedo Squadron Eight. Gay was severely wounded and spent 30 hours in enemy infested water before being rescued. He was awarded the U.S. Navy's highest honor, the Navy Cross. The lithograph is signed by George wit the added inscription, "Best of the Good Lick I had Here" Also signed by the artist 606/1000 issued. Suggested bid $250
