The image measure 57 x 44.2 cm. Théo Kerg (1909-1993) The Luxembourg artist studied from 1929 to 1932 in Paris at the École Supérieur des Beaux-Arts and at the Sorbonne. He then moved to the Art Academy in Düsseldorf, where Paul Klee and Oskar Moll were his teachers until 1933. Already 1933 Kerg exhibited first abstract works. In 1934 he became a member of the Paris artists' group ‘Abstraction-Création’. Starting from his abstract works Théo Kerg developed a tactile painting that give a relief-like materiality to the works by using non painterly matters.
