Steel plate engraving on heavy laid paper entitled "Shepherd with Flock of Sheep in Heathland." Anton Mauve's work is well valued in the marketplace. This is at least partially affected by the fact that he was a teacher to Van Gogh. Mauve achieved great success with collectors in his own lifetime. His landscapes with sheep were particularly sought after in America, scenes with sheep coming were slightly more expensive than those with sheep going.
