A remarkable artistic account from the inside of a war machine. This is the 1917 sketchbook of the official French military artist Lucien Hector Jonas. It includes over_100 pages_of unique artworks, half watercolors and half first-run monotype lithographs. The artworks range in size from quarter to full-page format. Portraits of over 100 important military personnel are included as well as various scenes of the front lines and offices of war. Photographic account of entire contents is available.
