2 silkscreens in colors of the same motif on smooth cardboard Poland, 1999 Jerzy Kalucki (b. 1931) - Polish painter and scenographer Each signed and dated 'J Kalucki 1999' as well as titled 'Prognose', inscribed 'Serigraphié', numbered '8/35' and '9/35' in pencil Image dimensions: 56.1 x 48.1 cm; sheet dimensions: 80.3 x 60 cm Very good condition In clear shapes, with typical minimalist reduction on the basic forms, Kalucki depicts a violet-colored circle, arches, lines and an area in a light turquoise. The motif of the arch is repeated frequently in Kalucki's work, always with an emphasis on the simplicity and purity of the form. Condition: Both sheets with tiny bumped spots in the corners, otherwise in very good condition. The dimensions of the depictions are each 56.1 x 48.1 cm, the sheets both being 80.3 x 60 cm in size. Jerzy Kalucki (b. 1931) Jerzy Kalucki studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow from 1951 until 1957 and made his debut at the 3rd Exhibition of Modern Art in Krakow in 1959. The minimalist and conceptual artist received his diploma under Andrew Footer from the faculty of stage design. Kalucki worked as a set designer for TV and theater productions until 1981. From 1981 to 2003, he took part in a painting workshop of the ASP in Poznan. He was awarded the John Cybis Prize in 2005. Works of the artist are in the possession of the National Museum in Krakow and the Museum of Contemporary Art MOCAK in Krakow.
