After Giovanni Volpato (Italian, 1733-1803), seven colored engravings, c.1768, depicting select scenes from the life of Joseph, Book of Genesis, ch. 37 - 46: Plate No. 1, "Joseph Eductus E Cisterna" [trans: Joseph Led out of the Well]; Plate No. 2, "Joseph Venditus a Fratibus" [trans: Joseph Sold by his Brothers]; Plate No. 3, "Joseph a Patre Lugetur" [trans: Joseph's Father Mourns]; Plate No. 4, "Joseph Tentatus Aufugit" [trans: Joseph Tried Fleeing]; Plate No. 5, "Joseh [sic] in Carcere" [trans: Joseph in Prison]; Plate No. 7, "Invenitur Scyphus in Sacco" [trans: The Cup is found in Sacco]; and Plate No. 8, "Joseph Patrem Amplectitur" [trans: Joseph Embraced his Father], Latin-language titles, captions, and Biblical citations printed along lower margin of each print, German-language framing stamps found on paper backing of most prints, missing Plate No. 6, some wavering of paper, toning, creases, holes, isolated minor stains, veneer loss to bi-colored frames, all framed behind glass, none examined out of frames, ss: 8 3/8" h. x 11 7/8" w.
