John Prideaux Selby (English, 1788-1867), "Common Gallinule" (Plate XXXI), hand colored engraving from "Illustrations of British Ornithology (British Birds in their full natural size)", published 1819-1834. Ornithological print depicting a brown and blue common gallinule bird with large feet walking on a dirt expanse with green plants and grass. Image of back of verso of frame showing label stating print is from the Walter C. Barnwell Collection and was loaned and exhibited by the The High Museum of Art and The Atlanta Art Association in September of 1948. Framed 24.5" x 32.75". Sight size 10.5" x 16.5".
