In contrast to typical performances, Beecroft never acts on stage herself, but rather directs half-naked stylized female and sometimes male models from the background. The present offset print reveals a typical work by the artist created in 2000. The offset print is foil stamped within the depiction 'VB 08-36' und is typographically inscribed lower left 'VANESSA BEECROFT PERFORMANCES, VB 36.330 AL, COPYRIGHT © 2000 VANESSA BEECROFT'. The backside of the frame is fitted with a typographic label which is signed 'WBOO' and numbered '24'. The work is in very good condition. Vanessa Beecroft (b. 1969) The Italian performance artist Vanessa Beecroft was born in Genua and studied architecture between 1983 and 1987. She then moved to Milan, where she studied stage design at the Accademia di Brera. Since 1994, she is active as a performance artist. Vanessa Beecroft lives and works in Long Island, New York.
