Colour serigraph on paper, mounted on hardboard, with wood frame Austria, 1993 Peter Kogler (born 1959) - Austrian multimedia artist The work was part of a room installation at Galerie Trabant in Vienna in 1993 Total dimensions, framed: 120 x 182 cm Very good condition Provenance: Austrian Private Collection Serigraphs by the Austrian multimedia artist Peter Kogler fetch up to 15.000 Euros at the international auction market The serigraph composed of six sheets was created by the Austrian multimedia artist Peter Kogler in 1993 for a room installation in the Viennese Galerie Trabant. The work shows a grid of pipes, covering the entire composition of the image. In addition to that, different elements appear in the image: the faces of a woman and a man are visible in the upper right, on the right a cigarette packet of the Austrian brand 'Milde Sorte' can be seen, below is a further advertising poster cited. The room installation, released in 1993, shows in the repetitive pipe system already one of the defining elements in the work of Kogler, who 'like almost no other artist of the present (...) finds defining image codes for our world that is increasingly determined by data streams and electronic lanes' (press release by Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt on the occasion of Kogler's single exhibition in the year 2010). The colour serigraph 'Milde Sorte - King Size', by Peter Kogler consists of six sheets of paper, which are mounted on hardboard and provided with a slim wood frame. The work is in very good condition with minimal traces of wear on the surface. The frame shows minor traces of wear. The total dimensions, including the frame, are 120 x 182 cm, and the hardboard is 118.5 x 180 cm in size.
