In his works Pedersen used symbols from all over the world, animals and objects from Africa, Oceania and India are combined in his very own universe. The fabulous animals and cosmic characters of this sheet are, on closer viewing, birds from Oceania, masks from Africa and fishermen from India. The origin and meaning of these is however transformed into a new, weightless universe created by the artist. The contrasting colours of this work merge into each other to create an additional component, thus the colour grades seem like a rainbow. Very good condition of the sheet, frame with only slight traces of wear. Dimensions: 104 x 74 cm (incl. frame), 69 x 44,5 cm (plate size). Carl-Henning Pedersen (1913 - 2007) The Danish artist Carl-Henning Pedersen was taught by Else Alfelt, who later became his wife.
