Both approximately 705x970 mm; 27 3/4x38 1/4 inches, small margins. Good impressions of these monumental etchings. Sicilian born Vasi (1710-1782) worked in Rome from 1746 to 1761 and created a series of Vedute or views of the city's great architecture which predated those by Piranesi (though Vasi's views are more straight-forward and less grandiose than Piranesi's). For a short time in the 1740s, Piranesi apprenticed with Vasi in Rome.
