ARTIST: JEAN COLIN (1912-1982) SIZE: 22 7/8 x 38 3/8 in./60.7 x 97.5 cm DESCRIPTION: Fusing laissez-faire dashes of color with cut-outs reminiscent of Constructivism, Jean Colin brings together Old Russia (the onion domes of St. Basil's, right) with Stalinist gravitas (the main building of Moscow State University, completed in 1953) to encourage the continuation of the French / Russian cultural dialogue.
