Rietveld join the Dutch Modernist art group de Stijl in 1919 and went on to become one of the most famous Dutch architects of the 20th century. His red and blue chair (1918) is one of the earliest pieces of Modernist furniture, and his Schröder House in Utrecht, built in 1923, is a landmark of modern architecture. Rietveld designed this well-structured typographical poster to announce an exhibition of his work at the local museum.
