작품 상세
Artist: RENÉ PÉAN (1875-1940) Size: 33 1/2 x 47 in./85 x 119.4 cm Similar in style to many of the works by Chéret -- who, incidentally, created the poster for the opening of the Olympia in 1893 -- this joyous design is a variant of the published poster Péan made for the establishment in 1899 (see PAI-XXXVI, 492). Whereas in the final version the focus is on the glamorous audience enjoying a performance, this original composition focuses intently on the prima ballerina receiving favors from an adoring male crowd.
