Magic lantern The Sultan of Basra. 1 folio of the tale and 2 magic lantern glass plates by Félix Mazo éditeur. (30 x 9 cm) c. 1900. Élie Mazo, manufacturer of projection lanterns and publisher of plates, began business in 1892 at 8, boulevard Magenta in Paris. After the First World War, Mazo, located at 33, boulevard Saint-Martin, became the great secular rival of Maison de la Bonne Presse, publishing several magazines devoted to projection.
