Botanical and Ethnographic Studies in Ceylon (Sri Lanka), 1875–85 Two folders, 40 x 32 cm, "Memories of the Years 1875 to 1885", with 35 albumen prints, 22.5 x 27 cm, mounted on card, 39 x 31 cm. One folder contains 19 photographs of outstanding botanical studies, including one of the cleared primeval forest with a pensive planter, presumably establishing a tea plantation there. The other folder contains 16 photographs of harbor views, such as Colombo, and village inhabitants, as well as tea plantations, and 5 ethnographic plates with a total of 25 photographs of all the local traditional inhabitants in their at times elaborate costumes. Botanische und ethnographische Studien in Ceylon (Sri Lanka), 1875–85 Zwei Mappen 40 x 32 cm "Erinnerungen an die Jahre 1875 bis 1885", mit 35 Albuminbildern 22,5 x 27 cm vom heutigen Sri Lanka auf Karton 39 x 31 cm aufgezogen, die eine Mappe mit 19 Photographien hervorragender botanischer Studien, darunter eine vom gerodeten Urwald mit dem nachdenklichen Pflanzer, der hier vermutlich eine Teeplantage anlegte. Die andere Mappe mit 16 Photographien von Hafenansichten wie Colombo und Einwohnern der Dörfer bis hin zu den Teeplantagen, sowie 5 ethnographische Tafeln mit insgesamt 25 Photographien aller dortigen traditionellen Bewohner in ihren teils aufwendigen Gewändern.
