This is a wonderful antique image of celebrated pioneer aviator J.A.D. McCurdy with his passenger. McCurdy made the world's longest flight over the sea in March, 1911 (89.78 miles). Hand written (in ink) info on the back of this photo reads: "Curtiss type bi-plane equipped with a Gnome motor, 50 h.p. He is carrying a fair passenger dressed in the latest aviation mode of 1911.
