The Delta Portfolio, consisting of twelve gelatin silver prints, represents Minick's best images from a project in the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta, CA between 1966-69, starting when Minick was just 22 years old. Minick continues in the line of Walker Evans and Dorothea Lange documenting rural scenes in the backyard of the metropolis. With the advent of California Forever this landscape may see rapid change similar to that documented by Dorothea Lange and Pirkle Jones in their Aperture photobook Death of a Valley.
