Sehr selten, schönes Beispiel früherer Architekturphotographie. - Charles Thurston Thompsons Karriere begann im South Kensington Museum (heute Victoria and Albert Museum), wo er ab 1856 als Superintendent für Fotografie sowie als offizieller Fotograf des Ministeriums für Wissenschaft und Kunst tätig war. Thompson hinterließ ungefähr zehntausend Negative, als er 1868 starb. Originaldrucke von ihm sind jedoch ziemlich selten. - Textseiten (abgesehen v. Titel) u. Tafeln lose. Tafeln 1-4 u. 20 verblasst, Taf. u. Textseiten mit Randeinrissen u. Fehlstellen, leicht gebräunt, stockfl. - Rare. A fine example of earlier architectural photography. With 20 albumen prints. Original half cloth (spine damaged, bumped and rubbed, slightly browned and stained). All sheets loose (beside title). Plates 1-4 and 20 faded, margins with tears and damages, foxing, slightly browned.
