The first performance took place in 1993. In 2000, it was performed again in Hannover. There also the present shot was taken by the Berlin photographer Tomas Adel. Condition: The laid-down color photograph bears a linear pressure mark of c. 7 cm in the lower left image area. The overall condition is good. The image measures 135.7 x 135 cm, the sheet 180 x 175 cm. Marina Abramović (b. 1946) Marina Abramović was born in 1946 in Belgrade and studied painting from 1965 to 1970 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade. In the early 1970s, she initially began with her artistic performances. In the 1990s, she taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Paris and Berlin. She exhibited her works worldwide. In 2010, the Museum of Modern Art dedicated a retrospective to her and two years later, the documentation "Marina Abramovic: The Artist Is Present" was launched. Today, Marina Abramović lives in New York and she is one of the most important contemporary artists. Tomas Adel (born 1962) Tomas Adel was born in Stuttgart. After his photographic training with Thomas Koller and Gisela Schenker he has been working freelance since 1991, since 1995 he has a studio in Berlin. From 1992 to 2001 Adel worked with the Serbian performance artist Marina Abramović. Tomas Adel photographed among other advertising campaigns for international companies.
