Further the book contains poems by Hart Crane (1899-1932, American poet) and the text by John Wood (1930-2011, English actor). Sheila Metzner installed a tripod with a camera for six years at her window in her apartment overlooking Brooklyn Bridge. The photobook ‘The Bridge’ offers a comprehensive impression of the perception of the artist of her hometown. Condition: The condition of the 12 platinum prints and the inserted loose print is very good. The book and the cassette are likewise in excellent condition. The 12 platinum prints are mounted on the pages of the book verso along their right margins. They are each 29 x 18.8 cm in size. The book measures 46 x 36 cm and the cassette 47.8 x 37.7 cm. Sheila Metzner (b. 1939) Sheila Metzner is a native of New York, where she studied at the Pratt Institute. One of her photographs was exhibited for the first time at the Museum of Modern Art in 1978. She works in the realms of portrait, fashion, magazine, travel and landscape photography. One of her four monographs was honored by the American Society of Magazine Photographers with the Ansel Adams Award for Book Photography. Her first retrospective took place at the International Center of Photography in New York. Sheila Metzner’s photographs are held by the collection of major museums in New York.
