4 pigment prints after b/w-photographs on strong wove paper England, 1964; printed later Robert Freeman (b. 1936) - British photographer and designer Signed in black ink on the McCartney print 'Freeman' and numbered '3/20' Image dimensions: c. 27.5 x 35.2 cm; sheet dimensions: c. 34.5 x 42.5 cm Very good condition The present set comprises four pigment prints after contact sheets revealing Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison or Ringo Starr. In the pre-digital period, contact sheets offered the photographer a first overview of his work and also the opportunity to select the 'perfect' picture. The presented set was taken, when Robert Freeman organized a photo shooting with the Beatles on the occasion of their new album 'Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! A Hard Day's Night' in 1964. Condition: The pigment prints are in very good condition and matted. Each image measures c. 27.5 x 35.2 cm, the sheets are c. 34.5 x 42.5 cm. Robert Freeman (b. 1936) In 1957 the British photographer graduated from Cambridge University with a degree in English literature. He then worked as a program director at the Institute for Contemporary Arts in London. By 1961 Freeman also became active as a photographer. He achieved international successes when he met the Beatles in 1963 and accompanied the band's international concert tours for three years. Besides, Freeman photographed and designed five of their albums covers. Furthermore, he published many books, produced films and has presented his works in exhibitions worldwide.
