WELDER, BY FRANÇOIS KOLLAR. 11 5/8 x 8 ½- inch vintage gelatin silver print. This is from Kollar's 1932 project, "La France Travaille." The welder's head is protected by a metal enclosure, illuminated by the light of the work. This is an exciting modernist photograph that shows the work without sentimentality. Signed, titled and dated 1933 in pen, with Kollar's stamps on verso.
