작품 상세
Thomas Struth (b. 1954) Museo del Prado, 2005 chromogenic print signed, titled and numbered in pencil 44/100 on the reverse 9 3/4 x 11 in., 24.8 x 28 cm Struth's desire to work at the Prado had been driven by his interest in Velázquez's Las Meninas, a painting of the family of King Philip IV which he first saw in the late 1980s, not long after he had begun making his own family portraits. When Struth received permission from the Prado's new director, Miguel Zugaza, to photograph in the Prado galleries in 2005, Las Meninas became the focal point for a body of work which marks the definitive completion of Struth's Museum Photographs.
